User experience testing of the ‘1, 2, 3 Ljubljana’ smartphone app has begun

At the beginning of March 2016, we presented a new smartphone app ‘1, 2, 3 Ljubljana’ for promotion of healthy and environmentally responsible lifestyle. Development procedures are currently entering a new phase. In the Laboratory for Multimedia at the University of Ljubljana’s Faculty of Electrical Engineering they have started usability testing of the smartphone app with end users.

A large number of potential users from various social groups will be involved in the usability testing of the ‘1, 2, 3 Ljubljana.’ The initial activities are focused on preparing the methodology of user experience tests, preparing the questionnaires for users, and setting up the eye tracking equipment to record users’ eye movements. The most informative and useful tools are ‘heat maps’ and gaze tracking charts, following how the users observe the screen of the smartphone. Based on the data gathered necessary improvements will be made in order to further improve the application and thus the overall user experience. (Photo: Gregor Burger)
