Use anthropological approaches for development of people- and environment-friendly solutions

On 31 August 2015 Dan Podjed was a guest speaker of the motivation day for managers and employees in education, public sector and industry. "The commitment to new achievements" was the title of the event, held at the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and organised by the Slovenian Human Resources Development and Scholarship Fund. In his speech, Dan Podjed highlighted the "stigma" of humanities and social sciences, which are often perceived as “useless” in industry. “Such perception is wrong,” explained Podjed and presented several cases of anthropologists, operating in world famous companies such as Intel, Microsoft, Xerox and Boeing and participating in the development of user-friendly solutions. The project DriveGreen was highlighted as one of the first Slovenian examples of such collaboration between anthropologists and engineers who work together to develop people- and environment-friendly solution for promotion of eco-mobility.
